A new reference point, with a square and an event space, is created by the Municipality of Ayia Napa in the area of the old post office.
A written announcement of the Municipality states that "we are proceeding with the creation of another reference point for Ayia Napa, since the area of the old post office is being renovated and upgraded to a square and a space for small events. The works have already started and are expected to be completed by mid-June ".

Mayor Christos Zannettou stated that "the goal is to support the wider inner region of Ayia Napa, in the effort for a better future survival but also for a more upgraded standard of living in combination with the renovation works on the main road of Tefkrou Anthia and the surrounding streets." .
He added that "despite the difficulties and economic consequences caused by the pandemic, we are working hard to implement another important project, aiming at a more modern and functional city."
