The Fire Department from 06:00 on February 10, 2026 until 06:00 on February 11, 2026, responded to 27 calls for assistance: 14 fires, 11 special services and 2 false calls.
· At 18:39, a call was received for a fire on the roof of a hotel unit in Ayia Napa. Famagusta Fire Station Sergeant Adamou Adamou responded with two fire engines and a hydraulic telescopic platform and the fire was brought under control at 19:39. The fire, which was caused by maintenance work, broke out on an artificial roof of part of the hotel unit and was contained without affecting other parts.
· At 00:51, a call was received for a fire in a motor vehicle in the Tseri area of Nicosia district. The Lakatamia Fire Station responded with two fire engines and the fire was brought under control at 01:23. The vehicle in question, which was parked in front of the owner's house, suffered extensive damage to the engine compartment. An investigation into the causes of the fire will follow, in collaboration with the competent Authorities.
· At 05:30, a call was received for a fire in a motor vehicle in Larnaca. The Larnaca Fire Station of Lieutenant Andreas Papadopoulos responded and the fire was brought under control at 05:40. The vehicle in question, which was parked on a public road, suffered extensive damage, while the front of a second vehicle, which was parked nearby, was affected by the fire and heat. An investigation into the causes of the fire will follow, in cooperation with the competent Authorities.
