Three cases of illegal employment and illegal employment emerged during inspections of premises, in the last twenty-four hours, in the provinces of Famagusta and Larnaca.

Specifically, around 10 p.m. on July 29, during a check on a property in Ayia Napa, members of the Aliens and Immigration Service and the OPE of Famagusta, found a 23-year-old man, a citizen of a third country, working illegally, without a permit from the competent Authority.

The 23-year-old was arrested and taken to the local Police Station of Ayia Napa, where after being questioned and accused in writing of the crime of illegal employment, he was released.

The 52-year-old employer of the 23-year-old was also accused in writing, who was also called to the Police Station.

In another building in the province of Famagusta, specifically in a restaurant in Ayia Napa, during an inspection carried out by members of the YA&M of Famagusta, this morning, a 26-year-old third-country national was found to be working illegally, without a permit from the competent authority.

The 26-year-old woman was taken to the Police Station of Agia Napa, where she was interrogated and accused in writing of the crime of illegal employment.

The 50-year-old owner of the restaurant was also called to the Ayia Napa Police Station, who was also accused in writing to be summoned before the Court.

Also, on the evening of July 29, members of the OPE Larnaca conducted a search in a building in Larnaca, following information that third-country nationals were working there illegally. During the search of the property, two men were found to be working illegally, and they were arrested for an unprovoked crime.

They were taken to the Minor Offenses Department of Larnaca, where they were charged in writing and released to be summoned before a Court.

A case of illegal employment is being investigated against their 53-year-old employer.
