The inauguration of the first phase of the project concerning the regeneration of the urban center of the Municipality of Agia Napa was held with the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Mr. Nikos Anastasiadis.
The project "Improvement of the streets of Tevkrou Anthia et al. in Ayia Napa", part of which we inaugurated today, is being built in the context of urban planning and essentially upgrades the area of the Urban Center of our city, that is, Tevkrou Anthia, Giannakis Pappoulis, Dionysiou Solomos, Demokratias, Filias and Dimitris Lipertis streets.
A project with multiple benefits and with an approved public expenditure of over three million euros and co-financed by the Cohesion Fund of the European Union over 80%. The main objective of the project is to enhance mobility in the Urban Center of our Municipality, to improve the appearance and functionality of the space, to increase the number of visitors to the center and the use of the urban space.
We assure that our efforts to implement projects for the benefit of both the local and wider society will be continuous and tireless, since we understand the social and economic extension of the implementation of infrastructure projects. We serve the needs of our citizens and municipalities with a sense of responsibility and we understand our obligation to plan accordingly.
We thank the President of the Republic for honoring us with his presence and all those who contributed to the implementation of this project which was made with the decisive contribution of the Department of Urban Planning and Housing, the Control Directorate of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, the project contractors, a consortium "S. Hadjichristofi Constructions Ltd and brothers Katsiou (Styliotes) Ltd JV", as well as the supervisors, as well as the Technical Services of our Municipality.
After the inauguration, the President of the Republic and the officials who accompanied him went to the THALASSA Municipal Museum where Mr. Anastasiadis gave an account of the works he has done throughout his administration in the free province of Famagusta. During his stay at the Museum, he visited the temporary Municipal Art Gallery of Famagusta.
