Hatzidakis "The Battle of Ayia Napa in the Greek Revolution of 1821 and the Greek Revolution of 1821", on Thursday, March 20, 2025, at the Municipal Museum "THALASSA", at 19:00 p.m., the celebrations for March 25, 1821, begin in the Municipal District of Ayia Napa - Municipality of Ayia Napa.
The following will be held on Saturday, March 22, at 17:30 p.m. at the Ayia Napa Harbor, the grand anniversary festive event to commemorate the 199th Anniversary of the Unique Battle of the Greek Revolution in Cyprus, which took place in Ayia Napa on March 17, 1826 between the Greek Revolutionaries and the Turkish Guards of Ayia Napa – Famagusta. The event will be honored with the presence of the Honorable Minister of Education, Sports and Youth, Mrs. Athena Michaelidou.
On Monday, March 24, there will be In-School Celebrations of the Public Departments of the Public-Community Kindergarten (9:00 a.m.), the Ayia Napa “Antonis Tsokkos” Primary School (9:30 a.m.) and the Community Departments and Day Care Center of the Ayia Napa Public-Community Kindergarten (11:00 a.m.). At 19:00 p.m., the torchlight procession of the organized groups of Ayia Napa will begin along Makariou Avenue.
On the day of the National Anniversary, at the Youth Building, a national parade will be held at 5:30 a.m. by the Church Band of Panagia Agia Napa and the Municipal Council of Agia Napa, and at 9:00 a.m. the Doxology will be held at the Holy Church of Panagia Agia Napa. The Day's Solemn Service will be delivered by the Vice President of DISY and DISY MP for Famagusta, Mr. Giorgos Karoullas.
At 10:00 a.m. the Band of the Church of Panagia Agia Napa and the Municipal Council of Agia Napa will participate in the District Parade in Paralimni.
