Police actions in the tourist area of Ayia Napa between the dates 26/5/23-29/5/23. In the context of the implementation of an action plan by the Famagusta Police Department in the tourist areas of Protaras and Agia Napa, with the aim of more effectively preventing and fighting crime and strengthening the sense of security and protection of citizens, coordinated operations were carried out with the participation of members of the police stations of Paralimni, Agia Napa but also members of OPE, TAE, Famagusta Traffic, Y.KA.N Famagusta, Y.A&M Famagusta as well as members of M.M.A.D.
1 arrest was made of a 34-year-old political asylum seeker from Nigeria for illegal possession and use of a Class B controlled drug while he was found to be illegally residing in the territory of the Republic of Cyprus since 10/11/22.
Specifically, on 26/5/23 at 1755 hours in Ayia Napa, the 34-year-old was arrested by members of the YKAN Famagusta, who was found in possession of a brown solid substance - cannabis resin of 0,2 grams.
