The 36-year-old British tourist was arrested yesterday by the Police for a case of burglary, theft and illegal possession of property.

According to the Police, it was reported on Wednesday 1/11/2017 at the Famagusta Police Department by a 37-year-old Greek Cypriot resident of Ayia Napa that during the morning hours of the same day, the warehouse inside his house was broken into and 9 fishing rods for tons were stolen from inside. which were equipped with fishing machines. all with a total value of € 1.500.

Members of TAE Famagusta inspected the scene and from examinations that followed and information gathered, it emerged that in the above case there may be a specific person who was staying in a hotel in Ayia Napa and would leave the same day for Great Britain.

At 12:30 pm, the 36-year-old Briton was located in a gardening and tool shop in Paralimni. A search of his personal property, which was located in the reception area of ​​the hotel, turned up property for which the suspect did not give satisfactory explanations about the way he acquired it and at 13:05 he was arrested for the self-inflicted crime of illegal possession of property.

During interrogation, he admitted that part of the property found in his possession had been stolen by him from homes and shops in Paralimni and Ayia Napa.

He then suggested scenes, including the residence of the 37-year-old complainant, and evidence for examinations was received.

From the property that was found in his possession, all the stolen property of the 37-year-old is included.
