An injured person was pulled from the waters in the sea caves area of Ayia Napa on Wednesday afternoon, after a fall, resulting in the immediate activation of the National Search and Rescue Plan "Nearchos" by the Search and Rescue Coordination Center (KRSC).
According to a relevant update, the information was received by the Famagusta Public Security Bureau and caused the mobilization of a speedboat of the Port and Maritime Police, specialized personnel of the Famagusta Fire Station and an ambulance of the OKYpY.
The injured man was rescued by the Fire Department, transported by boat to the Ayia Napa Marina and from there by ambulance to the Famagusta General Hospital for medical care.
The JCCD reminds the public that diving and approaching the "sea caves" site in Cape Greco are strictly prohibited, as - according to the Geological Survey Department - the area is considered dangerous due to increased soil erosion.
