The arrest of a 64-year-old man was carried out yesterday 20/10/2024 by members of the TAE Famagusta regarding the investigated offenses of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and malicious damage, which were committed against a 43-year-old man on 18/10/2024 in Ayia Napa.
Specifically on 18/10/2024 after an argument the two men had at their workplace in Ayia Napa, regarding work matters, the 64-year-old attacked the 43-year-old by throwing caustic liquid at him. The 43-year-old visited the TAEP of the General Hospital of Famagusta and after being examined by the doctor on duty it was found that he has burns on various parts of his body, he received first aid and was subsequently discharged. A judicial arrest warrant was obtained against the 64-year-old, pursuant to which he was arrested on 20/10/2024.
Today 21/10/2024, the 64-year-old was brought before the District Court of Famagusta and a detention order was secured against him for a period of four (4) days.
The examinations are continued by the Famagusta TAE.
