The Cyprus Police, within the framework of its cooperation with the Ayia Napa Marina Directorate and in view of the assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union by the Republic of Cyprus in the first half of 2026, is carrying out a terrorist attack management exercise on Friday 21/11/2025, at the Ayia Napa Marina.
The exercise will take place between 9am and 11.30am and will involve a terrorist attack on the Marina facilities. Forces from various services and departments of the Cyprus Police, the Ambulance Service, the Fire Service and the Ayia Napa Marina security team will participate in it.
The aim of the exercise is to determine the degree of preparedness, response, and coordination of the competent services on issues related to the security of port facilities, as well as to familiarize and familiarize the services involved with the Ayia Napa Marina.
The exercise will be attended by representatives of the European project, "HECTOR – Enhancing Protection of Tourist Sites in Europe".
On the day of the exercise, a large police presence is expected in the area where the exercise will be held, while blank cartridges will be fired within the Ayia Napa Marina facilities. Therefore, the public is informed that there is no reason for concern.
