From Ayia Napa to Medieval Cyprus (images)

Medieval tales of Cyprus were narrated by the narrator Marina Katsari, in a beautiful narrative way and the musician Vangelis Gettos last Wednesday night in the event hall of the Municipality of Ayia Napa.

The two artists to the sounds of the accordion, lute and percussion and performing in the natural language, the Cypriot dialect, brought to life before the audience, the legends and the patales of Meluzini, Digenis, Regina, Drakos and Lygeris.

This remarkable performance was given in the context of the quarterly Theatrical performances organized by the Municipality of Ayia Napa.

The following are the performances:

  • "Together Again My Mother Hangover-s" from the Theater Anatropes (Monday 26/2 at 8.00 pm),
  • "Odysseus" (children's) by Xenia Kalogeropoulou from the Satirical Theater (Wednesday 28/02 at 6.00 pm),
  • "Little Pharisees" by Dimitris Psathas from the Theatrical Club of Conteats and Friends "Terpsis" (Wednesday 07/03 at 8.00 pm),
  • "The Chairs" by Eugene Ionesco from the "Tree" Theater (Wednesday 14/03 at 8.00 pm),
  • "8 Dan… in the Ark" (children's) from the Mascarini Theater (Wednesday 21/03 at 4.00 pm),
  • "The Lions" by Vassilis Mavrogeorgiou and Costas Gakis (children) from the "Antilogos" Theater (Wednesday 28/03 at 4.00 pm)

All performances take place in the event hall of the Municipality of Ayia Napa and admission for the public is free.
