The District Court of Famagusta is expected to impose a sentence tomorrow on a 47-year-old man, who was arrested on charges of indecent assault, indecent act, and common assault, which he committed against five women, one of whom is a 17-year-old minor.
According to Steve Theodoulou, press representative of the Famagusta Police Department, "the case file was completed and this morning it was registered before the District Court of Famagusta in Paralimni. Specifically, the five women, aged between 17 and 22, reported to the Police that on three separate dates, in an area in Ayia Napa, a man unknown to them approached them and allegedly performed obscene acts against them and indecently assaulted two of them ».
In the first case "shortly before 06.30:30 in the morning of July 7.30, while a woman was in an area in Ayia Napa, a suspicious man allegedly attacked her indecently. In the same area around 7:XNUMX in the morning of August XNUMX, two women were approached by a suspicious man, who stopped the car he was driving near them and after opening the door of his vehicle, allegedly performed an obscene act in front of them."
Moreover, "on August 11, shortly after 06.00:XNUMX in the morning, in the same area, a suspicious man approached two other women and after getting out of the vehicle he was driving, he allegedly committed an indecent act in front of them and indecently assaulted one of them."
As Mr. Theodoulou mentioned, "members of the Ayia Napa Police Station carried out examinations in the area and from testimonies obtained from which evidence emerged against a 47-year-old Greek Cypriot and a judicial arrest warrant was issued. The 47-year-old was spotted shortly after 09.00:12 on the morning of Monday, August XNUMX, he was arrested and taken into custody."
Today the 47-year-old "was brought before the District Court of Famagusta which ordered his detention until tomorrow for sentencing".
The case was investigated by the Police Station of Agia Napa.
