Mayor Christos Zannetou described cooperation with countries such as Sweden as important for the sustainable development and upgrading of services in the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
A statement from the Ayia Napa Municipality states that "a few days ago, the City Hall welcomed the Swedish Ambassador to Cyprus, Martin Hagström, in the presence of tourism stakeholders and representatives of the Scandinavian Church."
The Mayor stated that "cooperation with countries such as Sweden and the Scandinavian countries in general is of key importance for the sustainable development and upgrading of services of the Municipality of Ayia Napa."
During the meeting, "an analysis was made of important issues concerning the experience of visitors from Sweden and other Scandinavian countries, the reform of Local Government, as well as the Municipality's strategies for tourism."
Mr. Zannetou "also informed the Ambassador about the various projects being carried out in the area, which are currently underway with the aim of improving the quality of life and infrastructure in the Municipality. At the same time, information was provided about the cultural activities that are organized both in summer and winter, strengthening local culture and the tourism sector."
