The Sotiras Municipal District of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, as part of its social contribution and citizen information activities, is organizing an informative lecture on the topic "Experience Drives Safely", which aims to enhance road awareness and promote safe driving behavior.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 10:30 a.m., at the Sotira Social Benefits Center and is addressed to both retirees and the general public.
Through the presentations and exchange of experiences, important issues regarding road safety, responsible driving, traffic collision prevention, as well as the challenges faced by older drivers in modern traffic realities will be highlighted.
At the same time, practical advice and useful guidelines for safer travel and better driving behavior will be provided.
Speakers at the event will be:
Mr. George Dimitriou, Famagusta Road Safety Manager.
Mr. Alexis Dimitriou, Lifetime Road Safety Ambassador.
Mr. Renos Evangelakis, Road Safety Ambassador 2026–2027.
The speakers, through their experience and knowledge, will develop issues related to prevention, proper driving behavior, respect for all road users and the importance of constant information on road safety issues.
The event is under the auspices of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetos, who has consistently supported initiatives that promote information, prevention and the protection of human life.
The Municipality of Ayia Napa points out that road safety is everyone's responsibility and underlines the importance of continuously cultivating traffic education, especially among older people, where experience can and should be combined with responsibility and adaptation to modern road traffic conditions.
