The Annual Meeting of the Scandinavian Consular Authorities, which took place yesterday, Thursday 7 May, at the Scandinavian Church of Ayia Napa, was attended and addressed by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou. The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District of Avgorou, Mr. Panayis Michaelas.
The meeting was organized by the Embassy of Sweden, with the participation of the Embassy of Finland, the Royal Consulate General of Denmark / Embassy of Denmark in Athens, the Royal Consulate General of Norway, as well as representatives of travel agencies active in serving Scandinavian visitors to Cyprus. The aim of the meeting was to exchange information and further strengthen cooperation between the bodies involved.
During his address, Mr. Zannettou referred to the new Municipality of Ayia Napa, presenting the vision and strategic planning of the Municipal Authority for the development and upgrading of the area.
At the same time, he made special reference to the important annual events and actions organized by the Municipality, as well as the infrastructure, the comparative advantages of the area and the development prospects of the new Municipality, with the aim of further strengthening the tourism product and promoting Ayia Napa as a modern and quality destination.
He also mentioned that the presence of the Ayia Napa Municipality at the meeting confirms the importance that the Municipal Authority attaches to strengthening cooperative relations with Scandinavian countries and tourism bodies, substantially contributing to the promotion and strengthening of Ayia Napa in the international tourism market.
The Mayor's intervention was preceded by a presentation of Ayia Napa by the Municipal Secretary of the Municipality, Mr. Fotos Kikillos, who highlighted the sights and natural beauties of the area.
Finally, the Mayor presented commemorative gifts to the representatives of the Scandinavian Consular Authorities.

Mayor of Agia Napa Mr Christos Zannettou addresses the Annual Nordic Consular Meeting – Agia Napa Strengthens Cooperation Ties with the Nordic Countries.
The Mayor of Agia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettou, attended and delivered a greeting at the Annual Nordic Consular Meeting, which took place today, Thursday 7 May, at the Scandinavian Church in Agia Napa. The purpose of the meeting was the exchange of information and the further strengthening of cooperation among the participating parties.
