Owners or responsible persons of residences and other premises within the Municipality of Ayia Napa (including ALL Municipal Apartments) are hereby notified to remove standing water from basements, courtyards of residences/apartment buildings and swimming pools that are out of operation, in order to prevent mosquitoes from accessing stagnant water, which is a breeding ground for eggs and may cause thousands of mosquitoes to hatch, affecting the entire area. Standing water must be removed or pumped out by the owners/managers by June 17, 2026. The responsibility for removing standing water lies solely with the owner or responsible person.

After June 17, 2026, a Municipality crew will enter premises where stagnant water is detected, remove it and charge the owners or responsible persons. In these cases, all measures provided for by law will be taken to recover the costs, including legal proceedings.
This notice is also considered a personal notice to all the above-mentioned owners or responsible persons and is issued pursuant to the Municipalities Law of 2022 (52(I)/2022), articles 118 and 121.
