On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, the Municipality of Ayia Napa is organizing on Sunday, March 22, 2026 at 7:30 p.m., at the Municipal Theater of the Sotira Municipal District, an event on the theme "Empowered Women, Strong Community", an evening dedicated to the value, power and role of women in modern society.
The keynote speaker of the event is Ms. Irene Kamenou Mitsidou, Family Behavioral Development Consultant, who will present an inspiring speech aimed at strengthening self-confidence, personal strength and collective support among women.
The presentation will highlight the importance of personal empowerment and how it can foster inspiration, mutual support and positive energy within the community. At the same time, practical ways to cultivate self-confidence, enhance self-awareness and create relationships of mutual respect and support will be presented.
The event aims to inspire women to recognize their power, boost their self-confidence, and discover how personal development can contribute to creating a strong and supportive community.
The event is under the auspices of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetos.
Brief biography of the speaker
Irene Kameno Mitsidou is a Family Behavioral Development Specialist. She studied Behavioral Sciences in Florida, United States, at the University of South Florida, while she specialized in Neuro-Linguistic Programming in the United Kingdom at the NLP Academy in Brighton.
He then trained in Greece in developing emotional intelligence in children and adolescents, with the aim of shaping and managing behavior. In 2000, he created the LEARN skills development programs, which focus on preventing and addressing emotional health issues.
She is a parent and child trainer and presenter of Thomas Gordon's workshops entitled "Positive Parenting". In 2022, she created the "Positive Parenting Guide - Yes I Can!". She collaborates with schools, municipalities and organized bodies, holding lectures, workshops and seminars on issues of behavior, self-awareness and interpersonal relationships. She is the mother of three children, Charalambos, Marita and Gabriella.
