As you probably know, Miss Cyprus 2017, Maria Armenaki, has been in the Philippines for a few weeks now, as she traveled to represent Cyprus in the Miss Earth 2018 beauty contest.
And while everything was going great for the model, a few days ago and while the competition was in progress, she herself was poisoned by something she consumed, as a result of which she was hospitalized and lost the final.
She said in a Facebook post that she is very upset that she will not be able to continue, as she and her team prepared hard to have a good course and presence in the competition.
"I am so disappointed that I can not compete in the final stage of Miss Earth 2018. I have been hospitalized for 3 days and I am still in IV. The doctors informed me and my family that I should not leave the hospital until I recovered. I am very saddened as I and so many other people have worked so hard for a year to get to where we are now. Thank you all, those who supported me in this journey ", wrote Maria Armenaki.
