A British pharmaceutical company employee was fired when he lied to his employer that he was ill, and a few hours later posted a photo from his trip to Ayia Napa. He was then fired and took legal action against his company but lost the lawsuit.

According to the DailyMail, this is Ross Collins, who booked a trip to come to Ayia Napa for a vacation, but at the last minute his flight was changed and he had to travel 24 hours earlier.

So as not to miss his flight, he told his employer that he was ill and that he wanted to see if his pregnant partner was well.

However, a few hours later his colleagues saw a photo of him on social media enjoying his meal at Gatwick Airport.

When he was fired, he filed a lawsuit against his company but his claim was rejected by the court.

In his appeal he stated that his dismissal was unfair and that he was overtime and "wanted to take this time back".
