A large number of goods, which appear to be imitations, were detected and seized during a coordinated operation carried out yesterday, in the province of Famagusta, by the Intellectual Property Theft Crime Branch of the Police and the Customs Department.

The purpose of the operation was to combat the illegal trafficking of goods that violate intellectual property rights. During its duration, members of the Police and the Customs Department conducted searches in three premises, in the province of Famagusta, in which a total of 357 clothing and accessories products, which appear to be imitations, were located and confiscated. The confiscated products were received by officials of the Customs Department, which undertook further investigation of the cases.

During the investigations, 390 vials containing nitrous oxide (laughing gas) were located in one of the premises and seized. The vials were handed over to the Ayia Napa Police Station, which undertook the further investigation of the case.
