The Municipality of Ayia Napa organizes the Annual Martial Arts Demonstration and the Bujinkan Belt and Diploma Award Ceremony of the Ayia Napa Municipality Open School, a special event dedicated to the effort, discipline and progress of the students of the program.
The event will be held with the participation of Open School students, parents and friends of martial arts, who will have the opportunity to observe firsthand the skills and techniques cultivated through training in the traditional Japanese martial art of Ninjutsu (Ninpo Taijutsu).
The students of the Open School have been training in Ninjutsu for the last twelve years under the guidance of Bujinkan Shidoshi instructor Mr. Michalis Konias, developing not only physical skills but also important values such as discipline, respect, self-awareness and self-improvement.
During the event, a total of 26 students will demonstrate techniques and exercises learned during their training, including traditional forms (Kata), takedowns (Ukemi), kicks (Geri) and Taijutsu techniques. This will be followed by a belt and diploma award ceremony for students who have successfully completed their training and are advancing to the next level.
A special honor for the Municipality of Ayia Napa is the presence, for the eighth consecutive year, of the internationally recognized Dai Shihan of the Bujinkan, Mr. Kostas Kanakis, who will honor the event with his presence as an honorary guest.
Through the Open School program, the Municipality of Ayia Napa continues to offer significant opportunities for creative employment, education and skill development to children and young people in the local community, while strengthening their contact with sports, discipline and the values of traditional martial arts.
The event is under the auspices of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou.
