The Municipality of Ayia Napa, the families of the Heroes and the Nationalist Associations of Liopetri, honor the memory and sacrifice of the four heroes of EOKA 1955-1959, Andreas Karios, Elias Papakyriakou, Fotis Pittas and Christos Samaras, who fell during the historic Battle of the Liopetri Barn, on September 2, 1958.
The Annual National Memorial of the Four Heroes of the Barn will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2026, at 8:30 a.m., at the Church of Panagia Eleousa, in the Municipal District of Liopetri.
The memorial speech will be delivered by the Honorable Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr. Konstantinos Fytiris.
After the end of the Memorial, a procession will follow to the Barn Monument, accompanied by the Band of the Nationalist Associations of Liopetri "I Will Not Forget".
A Trisagion will be held at the Monument, followed by the laying of wreaths in honor of the four heroes.
The Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Municipal District of Liopetri invite everyone to attend and pay the minimum tribute to the four heroes, keeping their memory, contribution and sacrifice for the homeland indelible.
Their memory is a legacy for the younger generations and an integral part of the historical memory of our country.
