The construction of the largest amphitheater in Cyprus will soon begin in Ayia Napa, according to a recent post by Mayor Giannis Karousou.
In last year's report of the newspaper "SIMERINI", the mayor of Ayia Napa had stated that the amphitheater, with a capacity of 2.500 seats, will be the largest in our country and is located on the hill north of Ayia Napa, in a unique location overlooking Ayia Napa and of course the sea.
It will also have cultural rooms and will be able to host all kinds of events, from operas to international concerts and theatrical performances. At the same time, the amphitheater will be open to tourists every day as an attraction, so that they can enjoy the unique view it offers.
The investment is estimated to attract at least 30 additional tourists a year, according to Mr Caruso, with an additional benefit to the economy of about 20m euros a year.
Mr. Karousos stressed that Ayia Napa supports tourism with culture and therefore, the open-air amphitheater is essential for the quality upgrade of Ayia Napa.
