Clearly moved, Kikis Konstantinou received the honorary distinction awarded by the Municipality of Ayia Napa as the "Timeless Citizen of Ayia Napa".
The award ceremony took place on Sunday, September 29, as part of the 35th International Festival of Ayia Napa, of which Kikis Konstantinou was the inspirer and creator since 1985 as President of PASYXE Famagusta. In fact, the International Festival of Ayia Napa is the first international festival held and established in our country.
At the age of 82 today, Kikis Konstantinou was honored by the Municipality of Ayia Napa for his overall contribution to the city, with the creation of the first hotel unit, the Nissi Beach, with his voluntary contribution with the help of the Municipality's service to create of the Outdoor Sculpture Park which hosts more than 200 sculptures by sculptors from all over the world and for the creation of the Outdoor Park of Cacti and Pachyfyta, two works which are among the most important reference points of Cyprus.
Clearly excited, Kikis Konstantinou received the award while a video was shown in which important personalities talk about the man Kiki Konstantinou. Among them are the President of Anorthosis, Eugenios Hamboullas, the General Manager of PASYXE Zacharias Ioannidis and the sculptor Filippos Giapanis.
Memories also awoke when the presenters of the International Festival of Ayia Napa for 25 years, Giannis Kareklas and Kathi Filippou, took the stage and presented the honored Kiki Konstantinou.
The event culminated with a big concert with Giannis Ploutarchos, his 19-year-old son George Kakosaios and Aphrodite Hatziminas.
