The Municipality of Ayia Napa presents the 42nd Ayia Napa International Festival, one of the most important and longest-running cultural institutions in Cyprus, which returns from Friday 25 to Sunday 27 September 2026, to the "George Seferis" Central Square.
With more than four decades of uninterrupted presence, the Festival is a fixed point of international cultural encounter and one of Ayia Napa's strongest institutions of extroversion. Every year it brings together residents, visitors, artists and cultures, highlighting music and artistic creation in a common language of communication, without geographical or cultural borders.
At the heart of this year's event are three major concert evenings, which express different aspects of contemporary Greek musical creation and are addressed to a broad, multicultural audience.
On Friday, September 25, Josephine brings to the Festival stage the contemporary sound, dynamic stage presence and energy of new Greek pop music, inaugurating the event with a high-energy program.
On Saturday, September 26, the acclaimed performer Kostas Makedonas presents a concert of songs that have left a strong mark on contemporary Greek music. With his characteristic interpretative quality and the timelessness of his repertoire, he will offer the audience a musical journey full of emotion, memory and authenticity.
On Sunday, September 27, Locomondo will conclude the three-day program with their unique, eclectic sound, which combines reggae, ska and traditional Greek musical elements. Their musical identity, with references to different cultures and contemporary international sounds, ideally captures the spirit of a Festival that invests in coexistence, interaction and the power of culture to unite.
The selection of the three artistic groups shapes a program with aesthetic polyphony, contemporary character and broad appeal. The pop extroversion of Josephine, the timeless Greek interpretation of Kostas Makedonas and the multicultural musical world of Locomondo compose a three-day event that reflects the contemporary identity of Ayia Napa: open, creative, dynamic and internationally oriented.
For the Municipality of Ayia Napa, culture is an essential pillar of its development and tourism strategy. The International Festival acts as a cultural ambassador for the city, enhancing its visibility, enriching the visitor experience and promoting internationally a destination that combines hospitality, historical heritage, contemporary creation and high quality events.
The event is part of the strategic vision of the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannettos, to establish Ayia Napa as a comprehensive international destination in the Mediterranean. A place that is not limited to its strong tourism product, but systematically invests in culture, the creative economy and in events capable of attracting visitors, expanding the tourist season and building long-term relationships with the international public.
Through an institution with historical depth and contemporary orientation, Ayia Napa is promoted as a place of cultural encounter and dialogue; a destination where Cypriot identity creatively converses with contemporary European and Mediterranean cultural trends.
The 42nd Ayia Napa International Festival is under the auspices of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Mr. Christos Senekis.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, the Deputy Mayors and the Members of the Municipal Council invite the residents, visitors and the international audience of Ayia Napa to participate in this great celebration of culture and enjoy three special concert nights in the heart of the city.
Admission to all events is free.
