On Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Ayia Napa Marina, Dimitris Giannis and Ioanna Paphitis, Special Olympics champions, will participate in the "Agia Napa Super Sprint Triathlon", sending a strong message of inclusion, acceptance and equal opportunities in sports.
In their announcement, the Run For Autism team stated that Dimitris will compete in swimming and cycling, while Ioanna will take on the running, participating together in the team event and proving that sport unites people without discrimination. According to the Run For Autism team, their participation was secured through the efforts of the Run For Autism Famagusta team and the positive response of the organizers @virtusporteventcy, who immediately embraced the proposal, giving the athletes the opportunity to compete alongside typical athletes, in an environment of equality and respect.
Because inclusion is not just words. It's actions. It's opportunities. It's acceptance. It's creating a world where everyone has a place at the start and everyone deserves a round of applause at the finish.'
