The Municipality of Ayia Napa honored eight more loyal friends and regular visitors on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Ayia Napa Municipal District, by proclaiming them “Tourism Ambassadors.” The ceremony is part of the Municipality’s long-standing initiative to recognize people who have shown their love and dedication to the city over time.

The new Tourism Ambassadors are the sisters from Austria Margit Reiter and Christine Dangl, with 45 visits each, as well as Claudia Reiter with 20 visits. From Russia, Igor Gorbunov was honored with 25 visits, while from Switzerland Ernst and Marianne Schaffner with 25 visits, Stefan Schaffner with 28 and Mila Schaffner with 102 visits.

The commemorative plaques and the "Tourism Ambassador" emblem were awarded by the Deputy Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Antonis Christou, on behalf of the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou, who warmly congratulated the honorees for their long-standing presence and contribution to the city's good tourist image abroad.

He also expressed the Municipality's gratitude to the visitors, pointing out that their constant and repeated presence in Ayia Napa demonstrates their deep appreciation for the place and its people.

"You are the best ambassadors of Ayia Napa in your homelands. With this proclamation, you are no longer considered ordinary visitors, but honorary members of the great Ayia Napa family," he emphasized.

The event was held in a warm and moving atmosphere, with the honorees expressing their gratitude and joy for the honorary distinction. As they stated, Ayia Napa is a "second home" for them, while they renewed their promise to continue returning for many more years, further strengthening the bonds of friendship that unite them with the city.
