The first experiential actions of the new program of the Municipality of Ayia Napa "Open Lifelong Learning for All: Seminars - Lectures - Experiential Workshops", which were hosted in the Municipal Districts of Ayia Napa and Dasos Achna on October 14 and 15, 2025, were carried out with great success.
The thematic unit that inaugurated the program was entitled "Communication Bridges: Words that Build - Words that Tear Down" and took the form of an experiential workshop, emphasizing empathy, meaningful communication and the strengthening of human relationships.
The speaker of the event was Dr. Koula Erotokritou, Lecturer in the Department of Psychology & Social Sciences at Frederick University and Supervisor of the “Neighborhood Social Worker” Program of the Municipality of Ayia Napa. Through interactive activities, open discussions and personal narratives, participants had the opportunity to explore new communication approaches based on respect, understanding and authentic connection with those around them.
The work took place on Tuesday, October 14th at the Achna Forest Primary School - "Fotis Pittas" and on Wednesday, October 15th at the Ayia Napa Cultural Center "George Seferis" in the presence of the Deputy Mayors of the Municipal Districts of Achna and Ayia Napa, Mr. Nikos Vasilas and Mr. Antonis Christou.
The audience participation was encouraging, with representatives from various social groups, parents, educators, professionals and active community members – all present, highlighting the need for continuous personal and social development through lifelong learning.
The action is part of the "Neighborhood Social Worker" Program, which is implemented within the framework of the "Restructuring of Social Welfare Services" project and is co-financed by the European Union through the Cohesion Policy Program "THALEIA 2021–2027".
The "Open Lifelong Learning for All" program continues with new thematic modules, for which a Certificate of Attendance will be awarded. Participation is free and is addressed to all adults who wish to develop, enrich their knowledge and strengthen their social presence.
