Three of the five garbage trucks that belonged to the Municipal and Community Waste Collection Complex of the Famagusta District and that previously served the former Communities of Avgorou and Liopetri as well as the former Municipality of Sotira were delivered today, Monday, April 14, to the Municipality of Ayia Napa, and specifically to the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou.
On behalf of the Complex, the former President and current Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District of Avgorou, Mr. Panagis Michaelas, warmly thanked the Mayor for the good cooperation as well as the employees who remained in the Municipality of Ayia Napa, recognizing their contribution and dedication. At the same time, he assured that the Municipality of Ayia Napa not only respects, but also constantly ensures the smooth continuation of their work, confirming its intention to support its human resources.
The Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou, for his part, thanked the three Deputy Mayors of the Municipal Districts of Avgorou, Liopetri and Sotira, Mr. Panayi Michaelas, Mr. Markos Koumis and Mr. Antonis Koumis, for their cooperation and contribution in the delivery of the litter carriers to the new Municipality of Ayia Napa. He made special mention of the employees who remained in the Municipality, underlining the importance of continuity and unity that must prevail between the employees and the Local Authority.
This action, he added, enhances the operational readiness and efficiency of the Ayia Napa Municipality in waste management, while ensuring better service to residents.
The handover of the basket-bearers was preceded by a Blessing performed by Father Konstantinos Germanos.
