The Pancyprian Association of Hoteliers (PASYXE) of Famagusta is requesting immediate licensing of the University in Ayia Napa.
A written announcement of the Association states that "it supports the local authorities in the province of Famagusta in every effort made to improve the conditions of economic, business or educational activity in the region, with the aim of stimulating the economy, especially during the winter, fighting in practice. seasonality ".
The reason, the announcement continues, is "the reports about the reluctant attitude of competent state circles that are obstructing the licensing of the establishment and operation of a university school in the province. The application was submitted since 2017, while there were prior contacts at the highest governmental level ".
The free province of Famagusta, it is added, is "trapped at the southeastern tip of Cyprus, between British bases and occupying troops. "Apart from tourism development, any effort to develop other sectors of the economy should have the full support of everyone."
He notes that "the operation of a university school would have tangible and significant benefits, such as the breadth of economic activity, the elevation of the prestigious prestige of Ayia Napa, would be at the same time a first-class investment against seasonal decay, while it would be an incubator of high scientific and workforce. The province of Famagusta should, instead of obstacles, have a privileged treatment in that it would enrich the economic activity, especially when it concerns the operation of a university faculty ".
He calls on the state machine to proceed, without further evasion, to the licensing of a project that will breathe new life into a province where the rate of financial contribution to the national economy is much higher than the returned benefits.
