At around 09:40 this morning, the KSED Larnaca received information that a small boat with 20 people was being dragged unmanned in the sea area 13 NM southeast of Cape Greco.
KSED immediately activated the National Special Plan for Search and Rescue "NEARCHOS", sending to Akato "ONISILLOS" and the speedboat "APOSTOLOS ANDREAS" of the Port and Maritime Police.
The rescued, 16 adults and 4 children, were transported from Akato "ONISILLOS" safely to the Port of Larnaca.
All the involved services of the Republic were informed about the further management of the rescued and the actions of their competence, as provided by the National Special Plan "NAFKRATIS" of the Ministry of Interior.
