Tourists from Switzerland, who made 15 visits to the area, were declared "Tourism Ambassadors of Ayia Napa".
In a written announcement of the Municipality it is stated that "the commemorative plaque and the emblem of the 'Ambassador of Tourism' were awarded to the Swiss regular visitors Thomas Appenzeller and Daniel Fluri, today Thursday September 1, by the Cultural Officer of the Municipality Maria Tofini Tsantila." The performance was made during a ceremony held at the entrance of the Municipal Hall of Ayia Napa".
Ms. Tsadila "thanked the two Swiss for their frequent visits" and added that "their special preference for Ayia Napa states in the most practical way that it is a special destination that visitors should choose for their holidays".
He also noted that "the Municipality of Ayia Napa, as a minimal recompense for this practical love of visitors to the area, now considers them its citizens".
