An increase in Turkish provocations is being recorded these days in the sea area of Cyprus, as an irregular Turkish navtex was issued for naval exercise using fire, south of Cyprus and just 15 km off the coast of Ayia Napa.
According to the irregular Turkish "commitment", the exercise will take place today from 7 in the morning until 9 in the evening.
The area was "committed" to the Turkish illegal navtex issued by the Navy's Office of Navigation, Hydrology and Oceanography.
The Search and Rescue Coordination Center of the Republic of Cyprus has issued a statement to seafarers, informing them about the illegality of Turkish actions in the area of responsibility for search and rescue of the Republic of Cyprus.
The KSED invites the ships sailing in the area to communicate with the legal competent services of the Republic.
A second exercise - search and rescue in this case - has been announced for an exercise east of Apostolos Andreas.
At the same time, with a third irregular navtex, Turkey temporarily modified the route of the two seismographs operating illegally within the Cyprus EEZ, Barbaros and Apollo Moon.
