A meeting was held on Monday, April 14, 2025, between Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou and representatives of the Famagusta Leisure Center Owners Association (FLACA), within the framework of dialogue and cooperation to strengthen local entrepreneurship and further tourism development.
During the meeting, important issues of concern to the leisure center industry in view of the upcoming tourist season and the Easter holidays were discussed at length. Among the topics raised for discussion were:
• Licensing and the need for Planning Amnesty for specific cases.
• The employment of human resources from third countries, with the aim of meeting the increased needs of the season.
• Extending the tourist season and combating seasonality, through targeted actions and synergies.
• Issues of cooperation and coordination of actions between the Local Government and the SYKAA, with the aim of supporting entrepreneurs and improving the quality of services provided.
Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou expressed his full support for the Association and assured that the Local Authority remains open to dialogue and willing to contribute to addressing the challenges of the sector.
The meeting concluded in a positive atmosphere, with a shared commitment to continue cooperation for the benefit of the local economy and the upgrading of the region's tourism product.
