The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, had a meeting today, Friday, January 23, with representatives of Civil Defense, in the context of continuous cooperation and strengthening the Municipality's preparedness in matters of civil protection and crisis management.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Director of Civil Defense of Larnaca - Famagusta, Mr. Andreas Souli Efthymiou, the Member of Civil Defense, Mr. Nektarios Chrysostomou, and the Municipal Secretary of the Municipality, Mr. Fotos Kikillos.
During the meeting, the Mayor was thoroughly informed about issues related to the "Polyvios" Project, as well as the procedures and mechanisms that are activated in cases of emergency. Particular emphasis was placed on the importance of coordination and direct communication between the competent bodies.
As part of the meeting, telecommunications equipment was delivered to the Mayor, which will contribute to ensuring immediate and uninterrupted communication, further enhancing the operational readiness of the Municipality of Ayia Napa.
Mayor Mr. Christos Zannetou showed strong interest in the "Polyvios" Project, underlining the importance of prevention, operational preparedness and timely information as key pillars for ensuring the safety of both citizens and visitors to Ayia Napa.
At the same time, he expressed his intention to support and endorse every effort and initiative aimed at the effective protection of citizens and their property, further strengthening the Municipality's preparedness for emergency situations.
He also expressed his warm thanks to the Civil Defense for its long-standing and constructive cooperation, as well as for its continuous support to the Municipality.
