The meeting between the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannettos, and the Consul of the Republic of the Philippines in Cyprus, Ms. Charmagne Garcia-Laconico, took place on Friday, April 11, at the Ayia Napa Town Hall, in a cordial and constructive atmosphere.
During the meeting, Mr. Zannettou informed the Consul about current developments in Ayia Napa, the projects currently underway in the Municipality and received extensive information from Ms. Charmagne Garcia-Laconico about the cultural and social initiatives of her consulate.
The meeting also focused on the upcoming Agia Napa Triennale to be held in May, in which an artist from the Philippines will participate, responding to a relevant invitation from the Municipality, and the possibility of the Philippines participating in the 2026 International Sculpture Symposium was examined, with the submission of a proposal by a Filipino artist.
The Consul of the Republic of the Philippines in Cyprus expressed her warm thanks to the Mayor for the Municipality's long-standing support for the Filipino community in the region and for the successful Philippine Independence Day event held in Ayia Napa, which, as she pointed out, remains a shining example of hospitality and cultural cooperation.
Both the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannettou, and the Consul, Ms. Charmagne Garcia-Laconico, assured the continuation of close cooperation, which has as its common goal the promotion and support of future actions that strengthen the friendship of the two peoples.
