An effort is being made on the part of the "Agia Napa 2030" Organization, so that the proposal it will present is "original and innovative", say the local bodies, noting at the same time the benefits for the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Famagusta Region more broadly, if Ayia Napa succeeds to become the European Capital of Culture in 2030.

According to an announcement by the Municipality of Ayia Napa, as part of the "Agia Napa 2030" Festival of Ideas, public consultations were held in the Municipal District of Ayia Napa - Municipality of Ayia Napa and in the Municipal District of Paralimni - Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.

The dialogue that developed between the citizens, representatives of the Organized Entities of the Municipal Apartments of Ayia Napa and Paralimnio - Deryneia and the Organization Cultural Capital of Europe Ayia Napa 2030 was "constructive" he added.

It is noted that during the public consultation held at the Cultural Center of Ayia Napa "Giorgos Seferis" and in the event hall of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, "nice and innovative ideas were heard, several of which will be included in the proposals of Ayia Napa 2030".

Both consultations were attended by the Mayors of Ayia Napa and Paralimni - Deryneia Christos Zannettou and Giorgos Nikolettou and the Deputy Mayors of Ayia Napa and Paralimni - Deryneia Antonis Christou and Kostas Michael and in their brief greetings they expressed "their optimism for a positive outcome since as they underlined it happens a lot great work and a great effort is being made on the part of the 'Agia Napa 2030' Organization, so that the proposal it will present is original and innovative".

They also highlighted "the benefits that both the Municipality of Ayia Napa and the Famagusta Region will reap more broadly, as well as the prominence that the region will receive in the European space if Ayia Napa succeeds in becoming the European Capital of Culture 2030".

Both the President of the Organization "Agia Napa 2030" and the artistic director Tasoula Kallenou stated that "their goal is the participation of citizens in the processes and ideas related to the creation of the proposal, which has the ultimate goal of highlighting Ayia Napa, and of the entire Famagusta region as a center of culture and innovation".

They concluded that the "Agia Napa 2030" Organization continues to strengthen the connection of its cultural mission with the local community, laying the foundations for a "new era in the cultural and social development of the region".
