Regular visitors from Northern Ireland were declared "Tourism Ambassadors" of Ayia Napa, on the occasion of their 35th visit to the city.
This is the couple Ronald Parys and Irene Hughes, who have made a total of 35 visits to Ayia Napa for leisure and holiday purposes.
At a ceremony held today, Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Ayia Napa Town Hall, the Deputy Mayor of the Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Christou, on behalf of the Mayor, Mr. Christos Zannetou, honored them with a commemorative plaque and the emblem of "Tourism Ambassador".
Awarding them the Municipality's highest distinction, Mr. Christou expressed his warm thanks for their numerous visits and for the special preference they show towards Ayia Napa, while pointing out that the Municipality no longer considers them visitors, but residents of Ayia Napa.
