According to the plans, the works will start as soon as the planning permission is given, and will last for about five years.
This is an investment of millions which is estimated to give a boost to Agia Napa during the winter, as it is the first university in the free area of Famagusta.

The new five-star university is located on an area of 40 thousand square meters, on the north side of Ayia Napa, next to the sports center of Ayia Napa. The default name for the university is American University of Cyprus.
The plan for its operation initially concerns the attraction of a thousand students from Cyprus and abroad, with the aim of then increasing this number to four thousand.
It will offer higher education in four disciplines, of which the tourism sector could not be absent. In addition to the tourism industry and the hotel industry, the new university will offer a degree in Business Administration and Economics, Finance, Science and Engineering.
