A couple from Sweden, Tommy and Anna Björkman, on the occasion of their 30th visit to Ayia Napa, were honored today, Friday, May 17, 2024, with a commemorative plaque and the special emblem of the Municipality, in a modest ceremony that took place due to a health problem at the hotel where they are staying.
The commemorative plaque and emblem of the "Ambassador of Tourism of Ayia Napa" was awarded on behalf of the Mayor Mr. Christos Zannettos by the Cultural Officer of the Municipality Mrs. Maria Tofini Tsantila, who after thanking them for choosing Ayia Napa as the only tourist destination about their vacation, he pointed out that their 30 visits "proves the extent of their love for the city and is the catalyst for its emergence as one of the most remarkable tourist destinations of both the Mediterranean and Europe.
"For this very reason" continued the Swedish couple "they are not just visitors but citizens of Ayia Napa".
