The Ayia Napa Municipality's Quarter of Theatrical Performances begins this year, on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, with the performance "Mounis", which is currently being staged by the "Dentro" Theater.
This is a groundbreaking theatrical adaptation by the "Dentro" Theater of the emblematic short story by the well-known writer, director and actress Lena Kitsopoulou.
The work, based on the collection “Great Roads”, reveals the dark aspects of life in a Greek village, where the inhabitants diligently hide their secrets behind nicknames and fake smiles. Through a series of extreme and violent incidents, Kitsopoulou sketches with bitter humor the pathologies of provincial society.
Kostas Silvestros, knowing Lena Kitsopoulou's style well, brings the author's unique world to the stage. The performance aspires to be a "spell" for the pathologies of modern society, highlighting how timely the stories of "Mouni" remain.
"Mounis" promises an unforgettable theatrical experience that will puzzle, shock and entertain the audience, revealing the dark aspects of human nature.
