The inseparable happened in Ayia Napa during the three days of the Flood events, with the result that it was observed mainly on Saturday and Sunday night, during which the two big concerts of the Helladic singers Nikos Zoidakis and Nikos Makropoulos were held, for several hours of traffic jams in all the main streets of our city. The Municipality of Ayia Napa presented again this year a rich and very attentive to the requirements of the People's Day program that delighted the thousands of our visitors who attended.
The events of the Flood, which have been established in recent decades as one of the most beautiful manifestations of Cypriot Folklore and are one of the most important events of our island, go hand in hand with the Ayia Napa of Cypriot tradition and culture, Cypriot morals and customs, the Ayia Napa of culture where locals and foreigners of all ages meet at this crossroads of culture and tradition and actively participate in the events.
Gathering and absolute respect for tradition along with modern influences are the priority of every action in the 3-day Deluge. In the established events of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, memories unfold and memories return at the same time to our much-loved city, the city of Famagusta, which hosted the events of the Flood until 1974, to our metropolis where the various poetry and dance competitions gathered interest of the folk artists of the entire Province, together with the sea competitions that were held in the port of the City.
Those beautiful moments of our cultural tradition in the City of Evagoras, bring to mind images that have a strong element of pride and at the same time nostalgia and hope for a return. We assure that the efforts to upgrade and enrich both the projects in the Municipality and the pioneering cultural activities will continue as befits a Municipality that is a pioneer in the tourist and cultural activities of Cyprus.
