Paola created Laothalassa on the evening of Sunday, May 31, 2026, in the picturesque harbor of Ayia Napa, giving the audience a unique musical evening as part of the second day of the Ayia Napa Flood events, the Fish Festival and the Water Festival.
Thousands of residents, visitors and friends of Ayia Napa flooded the Limanaki, creating an impressive festive atmosphere full of excitement, music, tradition and entertainment.
The evening began with the impressive presence of the Cyprus Police Force Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Theodoros Herodotou, lending a special prestige and festive character to the event.
The event was attended and welcomed by the Honorable Minister of the Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Ioannou, under whose auspices this year's celebrations are taking place.
The Mayor of Ayia Napa, Mr. Christos Zannetou, and the Deputy Mayor of the Ayia Napa Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Christou Gerimos, also gave speeches at the event.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Ayia Napa emphasized that the Flood, the Fish Festival and the Water Festival are institutions deeply rooted in folk tradition, religious faith and the long-standing relationship of the place with the sea. At the same time, he underlined that the new, enlarged Municipality of Ayia Napa continues to invest in culture, social cohesion, youth, tourism and the balanced development of all Municipal Districts.
Mr. Zannetou also expressed his warm thanks to the Deputy Mayors of the Municipality of Ayia Napa, Mr. Antonis Christou, Deputy Mayor of the Ayia Napa Municipal District, Mr. Antonis Koumis, Deputy Mayor of the Sotiras Municipal District, Mr. Panayi Michaelas, Deputy Mayor of the Avgorou Municipal District, Mr. Markos Koumis, Deputy Mayor of the Liopetri Municipal District, and Mr. Nikos Vasilas, Deputy Mayor of the Achna Municipal District, for their cooperation, support and contribution to the successful organization of this year's events.
The Deputy Mayor of Ayia Napa stated that the Flood is not just an annual institution, but a celebration that touches the very soul of Ayia Napa, as it honors the sea, tradition and the people who keep the identity of the place alive.
During the evening, the Mayor of Ayia Napa presented the Minister of Interior with a commemorative gift, "Icarus", a copy of a sculpture from the Ayia Napa Municipality Sculpture Park, as a token of appreciation for his presence and support.
The highlight of the evening was Paola's great concert, which thrilled the audience and provided an unforgettable musical experience in the packed Ayia Napa Harbor.
