The official opening of the events of the Deryneia Christmas Village, which is part of the Christmas Villages institution of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism, was held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, by the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia.
A large crowd of residents and visitors attended the lighting ceremony and the opening ceremony, enjoying the festive setting that has been created in the area. The inauguration was held by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr. Costas Koumis.
The Deryneia Christmas Village operates again this year as one of the warmest and most attentive festive destinations in the Famagusta district, offering activities, artistic events and hospitality spaces for young and old. The qualitative upgrade of the decoration, the pavilions and the events was a key goal of this year's organization.
In his greeting, the Mayor of Paralimni - Deryneia, Mr. George Nikolettos, stated that the Deryneia Christmas Village has evolved into an important institution that enhances the festive identity of the region and offers its residents a highly aesthetic environment. He also emphasized that, through such actions, the local economy is strengthened while at the same time promoting the region as a winter destination that combines tradition, hospitality and upgraded services.
The events of the Deryneia Christmas Village will continue throughout the festive season with a varied program that is expected to attract thousands of visitors.
