Tonight at 19:30 the anti-occupation event of the Municipality of Famagusta will take place at the Cultural Center of the Municipality in Deryneia, with the main speaker being the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the Mayor of the occupied city.
As part of the organization of the anti-occupation event, delegations from the Municipalities of Corfu and Piraeus, with which the Municipality of Famagusta is twinned, arrived in Cyprus from Greece.
The anti-occupation event will begin with a trisago at the Monument of the Famagusta Martyrs located in the forecourt of the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta by Metropolitan Basil of Constantia and Famagusta.
A short welcome will be addressed by the Mayor of Deryneia, Andros Karagiannis, and the President of the Cultural Events Committee of the Municipality of Famagusta, Nikos Karoullas. This will be followed by an artistic program for Famagusta by children and young people of the city, and a video screening entitled "Welcome to the city of our heart... 4 minutes of magic".
Speakers will be the Minister of Foreign Affairs Ioannis Kasoulidis and the Mayor of Famagusta Dr. Simos Ioannou.
The Deputy Mayor of Famagusta, Chrysanthos Zannetto, will read the resolution of the Municipality of Famagusta.
The anti-occupation event will conclude with an artistic program by the choir of the Municipality of Famagusta.
