The Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia announces that the new Deryneia People's Market has opened, marking the beginning of a new era for the promotion of local products and the strengthening of the region's agricultural economy.
The modern facilities of the Market have the capacity to accommodate thirty-six (36) producers and farmers, offering upgraded infrastructure for the distribution of fresh products. The project includes covered sales areas, spacious parking areas, including spaces for the disabled and large vehicles, a cafeteria, a square, sidewalks, a playground, shared green areas and public restrooms. The upgraded infrastructure creates a welcoming and functional environment for both producers and visitors of all ages.
The implementation of the People's Market is part of the Rural Development Program 2014–2020, under Measure 7 "Basic Services and Village Regeneration in Rural Areas", and is co-financed by the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Agency, the European Funds Unit of the Ministry of Interior and the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia. The total cost of the project amounted to one and a half million euros.
The People's Market will be open every Saturday from 7:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
