"Autopsy" Akinci at the Deryneia roadblock (video)

The occupying leader Mustafa Akinci carried out an autopsy at the Deryneia roadblock in the morning, leaving clear clues as to the delay observed in its opening. The government's response was immediate, with its spokesman stressing the willingness needed.

Video from last night's Sigma TV news bulletin (17/3/2018):

The pseudo-state is engaged in a game of blaming responsibilities on the occasion of the delay in the opening of the Deryneia roadblock.

Following the incessant inflammatory rhetoric of Ankara and the provocations in the Cypriot EEZ, the Turkish Cypriot side raises the issue of opening the roadblocks, in an effort to amuse the impressions and reactions of organized Turkish Cypriot organizations to the inaction of the occupying authorities.

During yesterday's visit - autopsy at the Deryneia roadblock, Mustafa Akkinci confirmed the will and readiness of the Turkish Cypriot side to commit to the completion of the remaining works for the opening of the Lefka and Deryneia roadblocks.

He even mentioned that the two roadblocks must be opened at the same time. The Turkish Cypriot leader blamed the Greek Cypriot side for the delay, expressing concern over whether the Greek Cypriot side is working with the same diligence.

According to Mustafa Akinci "It has been almost 3 years since the decision was made to open the roadblocks. The Turkish Cypriot side completed them
work related to the road infrastructure in Deryneia and Apliki. The two roadblocks can be opened at the same time, however we must be sure that the other side will not "burst". We are at the point of opening the roadblocks without further delay. I wish the Greek Cypriot side to have the same perception ".

The immediate response of the government was that it photographed the occupying authorities for the observed delay, reminding that the main goal remains to return to the negotiating table.

As Government Spokesman Prodromos Prodromou stated, "The government has shown the willingness it needs from the beginning." "Unfortunately, we had problems mainly from the occupying 'authorities'"

It is worth noting that the so-called "non-governmental" organizations and shopkeepers of Famagusta are planning a mass protest on March 31 at the Deryneia roadblock, reacting to the three-year delay.

According to Turkish Cypriot media, the protesters claim that the Deryneia roadblock has become hostage to the opening of the Lefka roadblock, without failing to criticize the Turkish Cypriot side for the inaction and delay.
