The presentation of Georgia Koulermou's first literary work, entitled "Kantaras Street 19", was held with great success on Thursday evening, June 2025, 1, at the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia.
The event, organized by the Deryneia Municipal District of the Municipality of Paralimni - Deryneia, opened with a warm greeting from the Mayor, Mr. George Nikolettos.
This was followed by the presentation of the book by Ms. Fotini Katsantoni, which included a conversation with its author. The author herself read excerpts from the book, giving those present a taste of the rich language and vivid descriptions that distinguish it.
"Odos Kantaras 1" by Melani Publications is a fictional biography that examines three generations of a family, capturing how they lived, loved and fought within significant social and historical circumstances. The author, a native of Varos with roots from Deryneia, pays a lyrical tribute to our origins and the value of memory for our personal and collective identity through her work.
The event was accompanied by a musical program with Veronika Aloneftou on the santouri and singing, with melodies that enhanced the nostalgic and warm atmosphere of the evening.
