A fire broke out around 03:40 in the morning in a bedroom of a two-story house in Deryneia.
According to Fire Department Spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the fire broke out in the bedroom of a minor, who had placed his mobile phone on the bed while it was charging.
The minor noticed the fire in time, left the room and notified his parents. All family members safely left the residence, without anyone being in danger.
The bedroom suffered extensive damage from the fire and heat, while the rest of the floor of the residence was also affected.
Two fully staffed fire engines responded to the scene.
According to the Fire Department, the cause of the fire is the charger and the mobile phone.
