Music, traditional games, and a feast were organized in Deryneia on Easter Monday afternoon, reviving the Traditional Kalyfes of Lampri. The Mayor Mr. George Nikolettos visited the event, participating and congratulating the organizers and especially the young and older volunteers, who, as he mentioned, contribute in their own way to the preservation and dissemination of the traditional element of the region and our place.
Mr. Nikolettos also emphasized that the Municipal Council remains committed to the goal of continuously improving the living standards of all citizens, through strengthening infrastructure, upgrading the quality of life and creating conditions of prosperity and perspective.
He stressed that the entire Municipal Council operates as a united whole with a vision and determination for the progress and development of the Municipality, while also highlighting the strategy of enhancing the visitor experience by highlighting the cultural and tourist profile of the region. As he mentioned, among the main axes is the tourist expansion towards the hinterland, with a typical example being the provision of a free tourist guide, which highlights the history, wealth and natural beauty of all municipal districts.
He finally expressed the wish that the Resurrection Light would be a beacon of hope and faith for the long-awaited liberation and reunification of the occupied territories of the Municipality and Cyprus.
